What does the law say?

According to Belgian regulations, fire dampers must be periodically inspected and tested. The standards and obligations are included in the European and Belgian standard NBN EN 15650 and the Belgian regulations on fire prevention (e.g. Royal Decree of 7 July 1994 and the Codex on Well-being at Work, Book III, Title 3) in buildings. Non-compliance can lead to heavy fines, liability issues and increased risks in the event of a fire.
