Hamster Cleaning acquires InsightAir
The Genk-based air duct cleaning company Hamster Cleaning acquires InsightAir from Olen and adds the developer of air quality monitors to the overarching Hamster group. "An integration that will offer great added value for both parties," says managing director Seppe Thys.
Hamster Cleaning has grown over the past decade into a company with branches in the Netherlands, Germany, France and Bulgaria. This group of countries is now expanded with InsightAir, which was founded in 2015 and is active in the medical and pharmaceutical sector.
"InsightAir also has the goal of improving indoor air quality and the company's activities form a perfect complement to the core business of Hamster Cleaning," says Thys, who sets out the direction together with shareholder Luc Vandeweyer.
InsightAir developed its own platform: sensor heads can be flexibly plugged in, allowing agile responses to changing situations and needs. Both standard parameters (temperature, CO2, PM2.5) and specialised parameters (ethylene oxide, ultrafine particles) can be measured.
"That specialisation adds expertise to the Hamster package. The full acquisition ensures close collaboration, allowing both parties to continue their European ambitions," says Thys. "Operationally, the merger represents an interesting complete package for the customer: for example, in several residential care centres we cleaned all air ducts and subsequently installed air quality monitors to ensure permanent monitoring. We want to intensify that approach."
